How to compare market narratives without getting trapped by a headline
A headline compresses a complicated story into one sentence. A better process reconstructs the evidence behind it.
Find the underlying fact
Look for the original release, filing or data point whenever possible.
Identify interpretation
Separate what the source showed from the explanation attached to it.
Look for disconfirming evidence
Ask what would weaken the story, not only what confirms it.
Keep uncertainty visible
Future outcomes remain uncertain even when a narrative is compelling.
